EOS is a smart contract and dApp development platform. Unlike many other networks EOS does not charge direct transactional fees for operations, rather anyone wishing to transact or run a dApp must obtain sufficient network capacity. Network capacity is granted based on staking EOS and receiving network resources proportional to the total size of the network and the amount staked.
