“I learned the importance of accountability and the value of decisive problem solving as a marketer!"
Michael Hewitt, Marketing Intern
“I’m really thankful for my experience at Gemini! I value how I was able to make meaningful contributions that would actually be used by the company! My role as a software engineering intern taught me a lot about how my job would feel in the future and I was learning new things every day. I also enjoyed how this internship focused on professional development so I learned a lot about resumes, interview prep, and networking. My team was also extremely supportive, as well as the others in the company!"
Priti Das, Software Engineering Intern
“Working as an intern at Gemini over the summer was a great experience. From learning all about web3 to working on real projects, the program was extremely valuable me. I was able to meet so many talented people and work on my skills everyday."
Fady Tawfik, UI/UX Intern

Introduce yourself - Name, University, Major and fun activities/interest
Be your authentic self! I felt that when I was truly myself and not trying to be someone I’m not, that I connected with people the most and also learned the most about myself as a software engineer. I would also say take the time to learn about the topics that you are working on. When I took time to invest into learning about Web3 and NFTs, I found myself growing an amazing passion for the work I was doing and I was more motivated to succeed during the summer as well.

The Gemini internship program is an early career opportunity for all career areas whether it be engineering, product design, or security. At Gemini, you are given full responsibility over your intern projects which then contribute directly to Gemini and their products. You will get the chance to work on an actual team, meeting both full time employees and other interns, within Gemini as well meet and talk directly with Gemini’s leaders. Because of the company’s outstanding culture and powerful impact, it’s impossible to end the program without having grown and having learned new skills and knowledge.

This summer, I was on the Nifty Gateway team working on the rarity rankings system. To go more in depth about my project, I was responsible for implementing a way to analyze and rank the rarity scores of NFT collections by drawing data from an external API. I also worked on an intern group assignment where we pitched an idea to expand Gemini’s reach in early career. This was really enjoyable because it was less of a full technical project, giving me room to be more creative while also allowing me to collaborate with other interns.

Professionally, I really wanted to work at a company that would provide me with stable mentorship so I could learn from real engineers and grow a lot but also allow me to have enough responsibility to take on challenges on my own and contribute to the company. I also personally wanted to work at a smaller to midsized company that would allow me to more easily connect with the employees and immerse myself in the company culture. I was able to fulfill all of these wants throughout the internship just through asking questions about my projects as well as participating in team happy hours and networking opportunities at Gemini.

Over the summer, I became more well versed in technical skills like Typescript, Git, and Django REST Framework while also learning more soft skills such as presentation skills and how to function on a real engineering team with engineers, product managers, and designers. In addition, I also gained more knowledge in general about Web3 technology and Gemini itself as a company and their extensive portfolio of products.

My favorite part of the internship was when the whole intern class was able to travel to Gemini HQ in New York City at the end of the summer. Not only was it amazing being able to work in the office in NYC, it was even more exciting being able to meet all the other interns. Even though we had all been working remotely, we really bonded and enjoyed spending time with one another. I felt that I made friends that will last a long time, even just from meeting them for the period of a couple days.
