Celebrating Gemini’s 8th Anniversary

The crypto ecosystem faced significant challenges this year. Despite the various headwinds, talented individuals across all our teams have continued to build every day during the bear market.

As we mark Gemini’s 8th anniversary, we wanted to take the opportunity to provide an overview of recent company announcements that our teams have worked hard to bring to life. A lot happened in 2023: our leadership team embarked on a global odyssey tour, we launched a new crypto derivatives platform, and we opened an office in India. But, that’s merely a fraction of everything our teams accomplished.

The progress we made in 2023 will set the stage for Gemini’s continued growth as a global crypto platform, as we advance our mission to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom.

Crypto Is Global, and So Is Gemini

The Gemini Odyssey Tour. In May, Gemini’s leadership embarked on a global odyssey to meet with financial regulators, lawmakers, customers, and media across eight cities, six countries, and two continents to tell our story and learn about attitudes towards crypto worldwide.

Following the tour, we are more enthusiastic than ever about continuing to drive our global expansion as crypto becomes increasingly essential to the global financial landscape.

Expanding our presence and investment in India. In April, in India, which will be the second largest Gemini engineering hub behind the United States and complements our existing international offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Singapore.

In September, we built on that announcement and revealed that over the next two years, we to grow our development center in Gurgaon, and more than double the size of our team in the country to 150+. India is undoubtedly a leading global hub for entrepreneurship and technological development, and we are thrilled to expand Gemini’s presence.

Building Products to Help You Explore the World of Crypto

Launching Gemini Derivatives. In May, , a non-US crypto derivatives platform. Gemini Derivatives allows eligible customers to leverage their crypto assets to achieve long or short crypto exposure in order to manage risk, generate returns, and gain directional exposure. Eligible customers can trade BTC/GUSD, ETH/GUSD, and PEPE/GUSD perpetual contracts. for more details about Gemini Derivatives.

Support for XRP. In August, support for the , adding a new blockchain to Gemini’s growing list of supported networks! With the addition of XRP Ledger, Gemini is now compatible with 13 blockchain networks, including: , , , , , , , , , , , and .

Bolstering account security with passkeys. In September, , offering industry-leading account security. We were thrilled to add this new security measure to user accounts, as passkeys offer the highest security standards available and reduce the effort required to secure your account.

Enhancing the Gemini User Experience

Weekly Market Updates. In March, we launched our Weekly Market Update series, which explores weekly crypto price movements, provides a quick and informative digest of notable market news, and dives into a crypto topic. for new Weekly Market Updates every Friday.

BitcoinBuzz Sentiment Indicator. In June, , a tool to empower crypto enthusiasts and traders with dynamic insights into the world of Bitcoin and crypto. BitcoinBuzz is a cutting-edge BTC indicator that offers a comprehensive view of price movements.
