What is Ripple USD?

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is a US dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, LLC, a qualified custodian and subsidiary of Ripple Labs. One RLUSD token is backed 1:1 by U.S. dollars and cash equivalents held in reserve. Tokens are issued when fiat is deposited and can be redeemed for the underlying funds.
