Gemini Is Introducing 24/5 Stock Trading With Limit Orders

This week, Gemini launched 24/5 stock trading, giving customers the ability to trade eligible U.S. stocks and ETFs from Sunday evening at 8:00 PM ET through Friday evening at 8:00 PM ET instead of being boxed into the traditional 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM trading window.
and it's another piece of our push to make Gemini the one app where your financial life lives: Crypto, prediction markets, credit card, stocks, and more.
Extending access to the market is part of building a true super app that doesn't ask you to wait for market hours to manage your money. For the first time, Gemini users will be able trade stocks 24/5 using limit orders.
What's A Limit Order?
A limit order is an instruction to buy or sell a stock at a specific price. Instead of accepting whatever the market happens to be offering right now, you set the price you're willing to pay (if you're buying) or the price you're willing to accept (if you're selling), and the order only fills when the market reaches that price.
- Buying: Set a limit price at or below the market price. Your order can only fill at your limit price or lower.
- Selling: Set a limit price at or above the market price. Your order can only fill at your limit price or higher.
If the market never reaches your price, the order simply doesn't fill. In certain limited situations, such as when there is not enough liquidity at your limit price, Gemini may execute a partial fill order.
A Frictionless Super App Experience
Gemini added commission-free trading so you could access stock trading alongside your crypto. No separate app, no switching between platforms to manage different parts of your portfolio. 24/5 trading extends that same philosophy to when you can act, not just what you can trade.
This is one more brick in a bigger idea: A single app where your financial life lives together, from crypto, our credit card, to predictions and stocks, we’re breaking down barriers between the different pieces of your financial life, including the wall around market hours.
*Trading outside of standard market hours carries greater risk due to lower liquidity and higher volatility. Limit orders are not guaranteed to execute. *
