Announcing the Launch of Nifty Gateway Studio

The Nifty Gateway team recently took its first public step in transitioning from Nifty Gateway Marketplace to Nifty Gateway Studio.

Nifty Gateway Studio is a Web3 creative studio working with today’s leading creative minds to push the boundaries of human experiences and connection through the development of extraordinary creative experiences using blockchain technology.

This represents a massive shift for Nifty Gateway logistically. We are overhauling our technical infrastructure to support this new direction, as well as redesigning the core collector experience. But philosophically, it’s an obvious evolution for us that reflects years of testing and conversations with our audience and partners.

Going forward, this is what you can expect from Nifty Gateway Studio:

• World-class creativity: Partnering with visionary artists to bring their most ambitious ideas to life. From strategy to production, promotion, and growth - our commitment is to the long term success of our artists and their creative experiences.
• Innovative blockchain technology: Nifty Gateway Studio engineers working hand in hand with artists to brainstorm, collaborate, and build novel, on-chain experiences for collectors. We see this not just as critical to the creative experiences themselves, but to the continued development and adoption of the broader Web3 space.
• Power of community: Art is inherently social, and we believe a critical component of Nifty Gateway Studio is to foster connections between artists, collectors, and one another. This will play a critical and consistent role in our new user experience.

Extraordinary creative experiences are how Nifty Gateway made its mark on this world. Pak’s Merge sold for $91.8M in the largest ever art sale by a living creator. Sam Spratt’s The Monument Game and Refik Anado’s Machine Hallucinations introduced entirely new ways for audiences to interact with art. Starbucks Odyssey built one of the largest ever on-ramps to Web3.

All of these accomplishments represent a union of creativity, technology, and human connection–a blend that we believe Nifty Gateway does best.

Similar to many other companies in Web3, 2022 and 2023 was a time of reflection, testing, and defining what we are and what we are not as a business. Going forward we will be focusing our energy and skills on delivering the one thing we are arguably best in the business at – extraordinary creative experiences powered by on-chain technology.

We believe NFTs are the future of consumer entertainment. Art is, and has always been, inherently social, but for centuries it has been kept behind closed gates. It has been guarded and restricted to the elite, stealing from so many the true magic of creativity. When people with disparate backgrounds and perspectives come together around a shared experience this construct changes.

Blockchain makes this uniquely possible–not just tearing down these boundaries, but empowering those who participate through novel forms of ownership and value. And while we may not know how the next 5-10 years will unfold, we do know for certain that this is our lane to pioneer.

This year, Nifty Gateway Studio will be launching some of our most impressive experiences yet as we pull from our past learnings and shore up for scale and mass adoption. These will include collaborations with Sam Spratt, Dave Krugman, Otherworld, and many others.
