Rewards Terms
This section on Rewards, which forms part of the Gemini Intergalactic UK User Agreement, provides additional terms which apply when you participate in our Rewards Programme. By participating in the Rewards Programme, you agree to these terms in addition to the broader terms of the Gemini Intergalactic UK User Agreement.
Capitalised terms in these additional terms have the meaning given to them in main Gemini Intergalactic UK User Agreement, and in addition the following capitalised words shall have the following meanings:
“Daily Reward Rate” refers to the rate at which Rewards accrue, as set out on our Website or Mobile Application.
“Eligible Account(s)” means the accounts through which you are eligible to receive Rewards
“Eligible Cryptoassets” refers to RLUSD, as well as any other Cryptoasset(s) that is supported by the Rewards Programme.
“Minimum Confirmed Balance” means the minimum amount of Eligible Cryptoassets present in your Eligible Account(s) at any given time during a 24-hour period (starting from 00:00:00 UTC daily), which excludes pending deposits, advances and other unconfirmed amounts.
“Rewards Programme” means the programme, feature or initiative that we may offer from time to time which may entitle you to receive Rewards based on the Eligible Cryptoassets you hold in your Eligible Account(s).
“Reward(s)” refers to the Cryptoassets we may credit to your Eligible Account(s) in return for participating in the Rewards Programme.
Eligibility requirements
You will be eligible to receive Rewards under our Rewards Programme so long as you have opted in to the Rewards Programme (which you can check in your Account settings). To start earning Rewards, you must hold a positive balance of Eligible Cryptoassets in your Eligible Account(s).
You may not participate in the Rewards Programme if you are a citizen of, resident of, or a legal entity based in a jurisdiction that Gemini Intergalactic UK, Ltd doesn’t operate. If you receive any Rewards that you are not entitled to, we reserve the right to withdraw any such Rewards directly from your Eligible Account(s).
Payment of Rewards
Subject to meeting the eligibility requirements, you will receive Rewards equal to the Minimum Confirmed Balance multiplied by the Daily Reward Rate. Rewards accrue daily but are paid out monthly to your Eligible Account(s) in the following calendar month. Rewards are paid in the same type of Eligible Cryptoasset that you hold in your Eligible Account(s). All Rewards you earn will be visible in your Transaction History under your Account.
Fees and Tax
Our Rewards Programme is currently provided on a free basis, however we reserve the right to charge for future participation on giving reasonable notice.
We are not responsible for your tax, and instead you are responsible for complying with any tax obligations applicable to any Rewards generated from participating in our Rewards Programme. The tax treatment of Rewards you receive depends on your individual circumstances and may be subject to change in the future.
Liability
In addition to the general Disclaimer of Liability set out in this User Agreement, we are not responsible for any loss as a consequence of (i) our exercise of any rights or discretion permitted to us under this User Agreement, including (but not limited to) the introduction of a minimum balance requirement or changes to how Rewards are calculated or paid, or (ii) your failure to meet the applicable eligibility requirements or conditions, including without limitation as a consequence of changes to these.
Making Withdrawals
You can make withdrawals from your Eligible Account(s) at any time, however a withdrawal may reduce the amount of Rewards you earn going forward. For the avoidance of doubt, withdrawals will not affect Rewards you have already earned prior to withdrawal.
Opting Out
You can opt out of the Rewards Programme at any time via your Account settings. If you opt out during a month, you will not be eligible to receive Rewards with respect to the month in which you make the opt out and thereafter. If you opt in at any point during a month, you will earn Rewards for the entire month, as Rewards accrue retroactively from the first day of that month.
If your access to Gemini or any Account is terminated for any reason, any accrued Rewards for that month will be forfeited.
Changes to and termination of the Rewards Programme
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change any aspect of the Rewards Programme by providing you with reasonable advance notice (which may include immediate effect). This includes without limitation changes to: the eligibility requirements to earn Rewards, the minimum balance required to earn Rewards, the Daily Reward Rate, the amount of or methodology used to calculate Rewards, the maximum amount of Rewards which you may be entitled to receive, and the availability of the Rewards Programme on either a temporary or permanent basis. We may make changes after you have met, or have taken steps to meet, the eligibility criteria. You should therefore regularly check our Website or Mobile Application for any updates.
If the Rewards Programme is terminated for any reason, no Rewards will be earned for the month of termination or thereafter.
