eLearning
at Canfor Division uses Gemini Technology
New Employees
Receiving Online Training
Calgary, Alberta, Canada - Gemini
Learning Systems Inc. (Gemini), announced today that Canfor's Northwood
Pulp Mill division (Northwood) has begun using eLearning to deliver training
to new employees in its Fibreline Department.
The project involves converting site-specific content
using SWIFT Author to the SWIFT Environment and delivering the courses
to new Canfor employees. Northwood also uses Gemini's eLearning Management
System (GeMS) to manage the learners, their eLearning courses, and third-party
CBT products.
Ted Perry, HR Manager for Canfor's Northwood Pulp Mill
stated, "Gemini's technology allows us to implement and assess the viability
of eLearning as an alternative training delivery method. The results of
this initiative will certainly help determine whether or not we continue
to move our training development efforts in this direction."
"It is important to test eLearning as a training solution
at the departmental or group level before rolling it out on a larger scale
and Gemini is perfectly suited to do this at any level," added Kim Adolphe
President and CEO of Gemini. "At the same time that many eLearning initiatives
have failed, Gemini has built a solid track record of success and a growing
list of happy customers."
