Gemini's VAR partner RAND Worldwide Launches First eLearning Technical Courses
RAND Training division ASCENT Offers Pro/ENGINEER
Web-Based Training Through ENGINEERING.com
Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Sarasota, Florida, United States - Gemini Learning
Systems Inc. (Gemini), a subsidiary of Salient Cybertech, Inc., (OTC BB:
SLEL) and Rand A Technology Corporation [TSE: RND], operating as RAND
Worldwide™, announces the release of 11 new self-paced, Web-based training
courses focused on PTC's Pro/ENGINEER® mechanical design software.
ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge™ is the curriculum
development division of RAND Worldwide. ASCENT's eLearning products are
offered around the world through ENGINEERING.com and RAND Worldwide. Gemini
provides the WebShop ASP hosting infrastructure and the Gemini SWIFT 5
technology used to create WebShop courses.
"This inaugural release represents an important first step
for ASCENT, which is at the heart of our overall learning strategy," said
Brian Semkiw, CEO of RAND Worldwide. "We are combining our significant
global technological experience, along with our advanced training and
curriculum track record to assist technology users and their organizations
to see the greatest benefits from their engineering software - whatever
that may be. Our core objective is to enhance a student's learning experience
so that he or she not only "learns" about any particular software, but
walks away with practical new skills that they can immediately apply."
"A key benefit of a WebShop is the SWIFT technology. It
allows the user to focus only on what they need to learn, and move at
a pace that is suitable for them" said Joe Oswald, P. Eng., Executive
Vice President of the ASCENT Division. "WebShops represents the Third
Generation of eLearning - the first two being the simple transcription
of textbook training to the computer and then putting it on the Internet.
We have developed WebShops with the ability to be both engaging and adaptive
in real time and to reflect the tremendous potential of the Internet for
learning. We are designing our WebShop eLearning solutions based on the
absolute conviction that, even as it continues to evolve, Internet-based
learning is rapidly becoming a central tool for technical training."
